Bariatric Transport Service

Vital Emergency Medical Service takes great pride in providing the area’s only dedicated bariatric transport stretcher program available to the Greater Worcester service area. While each of our vehicles is equipped with Stryker MX-Pro stretchers, capable of  transporting a 650 pound patient, our Bariatric model is 50% wider than conventional stretchers and can accommodate up to an 1,800 pound patient. All of our personnel are instructed in the Bariatric treatment and transfer protocol. Being knowledgeable of and responsive to the sensitivity and complexities of bariatric patients is one more step in assuring Vital Emergency Medical Service is proactive and ready to handle any of the medical transportation issues which face the health care industry.
